On a glorious blue sky day, the team from Drayton at R G Carter, celebrated a topping out on the roof of the new specialist policing centre at Broadland Business Park.
25 guests joined them for the event, where at the start Mario Rackham from R G Carter outlined the project status and the traditions of a topping out. This was followed by speeches from Giles Orpen-Smellie, Police and Crime Commissioner (third from left) and Paul Sanford, Chief Constable (first left) on the cultural and practical benefits Broadland Gate Police Station will have on their teams.
The morning completed with a tour for all the guests, including the Estates and Change team at Norfolk Constabulary, of this 43,000 sq ft scheme in progress.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase all the hard work and progress to date on this impressive scheme and to thank everyone involved in the journey so far.
The new hub will bring specialist expertise all under one roof, providing facilities for detective investigations, safeguarding, crime scene investigation and public protection services, which will serve both Norwich and the wider East Norfolk communities.
