Defence and Emergency Services

The Armed Forces and Emergency Services operate twenty-four hours a day, 365 days per year, and can be called upon to serve in the face of challenging and unpredictable circumstances. Dependability and resilience are key requirements, as is value for money across the entire asset life-cycle. Through the delivery of numerous projects over a number of years, we have built an understanding of the security and operational requirements of the Defence Estates and  Emergency Services. This enables us to offer a range of services tailored to these requirements, including full design and construction for capital schemes, planned repairs, maintenance and refurbishment, and redevelopment of decommissioned facilities.

R G Carter has delivered a substantial portfolio of projects with the Ministry of Defence, ranging from specialist buildings such as aircraft hangars, to administrative, technical and accommodation buildings, located on bases, garrisons and airfields throughout the East of England. Our collaborative, client focused approach to project and change management, has enabled us to deliver effective project solutions and meet DREAM rating requirements.

We have a wealth of experience working with the emergency services to design and build modern facilities that meet the exacting operational requirements of each of the services, including the police, healthcare, the fire service and off-shore rescue teams. Beginning with an understanding of the operational requirements, we work collaboratively to develop practical, sustainable solutions that are tailored to the needs of their users and the intended scope of operations.
