Norwich Primark Store

R G Carter and Primark embarked on a very complex and difficult store replacement project in the centre of Norwich which was completed at the end of 2019.

The store, which is now one of the biggest trading spaces in Norwich involved the demolition of the original store along with the two adjoining retail spaces. The subsequent rebuild was a three story store which enveloped the entire footprint on a pedestrianised shopping street, providing new facades at both ends and increased the sales floor space to 60,000 square feet.

The envelope was constructed of brickwork and due to the build having 7 adjoining party walls shops, R G Carter used complex overhanging scaffolds to allow the works to be undertaken without touching any of the adjoining properties.

The store contains the latest Primark design features which continue to be rolled out throughout its European stores. This includes gender neutral fitting rooms and a nail and beauty bar.

The store opened on Wednesday 11th December 2019 to over 200 eager shoppers waiting to be the first to visit!
