Modular Building at Regent Theatre Ipswich

R G Carter completed the installation of a modular building to enhance the back of house facilities at Ipswich’s Regent Theatre on behalf of their client Ipswich Borough Council.

The building consists of three new changing rooms including one which is DDA compliant all of which have w/c and shower facilities, a multiuse space and a kitchen area. A bespoke link corridor was also constructed to connect the new facilities to the existing building. This was built on part of car park with a link to the main theatre building.

Piled foundations were installed due to poor ground conditions and an Archaeological investigation was also carried out in order to discharge planning conditions. Due to ground levels a DDA compliant ramp was installed to improve access.

The facility was officially opened by the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Lynne Mortimer on 1st November 2023.
