Leighton Buzzard Middle School

R G Carter were appointed under the NHS SBS Construction Works Framework to deliver upgrade works to the school during the summer holidays.

This project was the largest of the three schemes we carried out during the 2022 summer holidays. Works comprised of replacing the original felt flat roof with insulated roof panels. By replacing the roof provides the school building with better insulation which subsequently provides a better lifecycle cost to the School. The re-roofing was carried out in three separate areas of the school.

Additionally, we repaired 83 windows which were subject to dry rot. The resin was repaired, repainted and decorated back up to standard. We also repaired the path within the school with new tarmac as shown in the image to the right.

The works were delivered within a six week period to ensure zero disruption to the School’s day-to-day activities.
