Team members from R G Carter and Carter Design Group undertook a vital CPD course recently in Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Risk. Thank you to 1st Line Defence for this expert training specific to the construction industry.
The training provides an introduction to construction teams on UXO risks, why it should be considered, and what can be done to assess and mitigate risks. The presentation included background to WWI and WWII bombing, British and Allied military activity and case studies of UXO finds on sites.
Examples of various munitions were also on hand to raise awareness of the diverse types, sizes and shapes of UXO that can potentially be encountered.
A fascinating and extremely important piece of CPD training for all that attended.
