On Friday 29th April, the official opening ceremony of the refurbished and extended Holbeach Police Station was held. The event was attended by dignitaries from the Police, South Holland District Council and Holbeach Council.
Despite many hidden challenges, the Building Solutions team from R G Carter Cambridge overcame all, gaining the praise of Chief Superintendent Kate Anderson and Inspector Nick Waters. Renovation works have transformed the facility; the project a result of a collaborative approach between R G Carter and Lincolnshire Police, culminating in the ideal modern environment for the officers to undertake their vitally important work in the local community.
The time capsule from 1964 found hidden in the building by our Site Manger was on display at the ceremony, along with a stop watch also uncovered, which was used in the 1980’s to catch speeding motorists! The Police were delighted we had reciprocated by placing our own time capsule in the fabric of the building for a future generation to hopefully discover.
