A battery the size of a shipping container, made from 24 recycled electric vehicle batteries has been delivered and installed at Mildenhall Hub; the new bespoke built facility bringing community services all under one roof.
The purpose-built battery will store renewable energy generated by solar panels and energy generated by a Combined and Heat Power unit. Connected Energy, the firm behind the storage battery called an E-STOR, built it using 24 second-life Renault Kangoo electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
This just one of the many environmental features that Mildenhall Hub is installing on this sustainable led project.
