At the Mayflower Building at Boston College, all five glulam beams have now been installed on this new teaching and business facility. This brilliant image taken after dark by one of the staff, shows off the simplicity of the design, with the central atrium being located under the huge beams. The classroom and office space will be situated in the steel framed blocks which sit either side of the arches to form an L shape to the footprint.
The build is certainly now getting lots of interest as students and staff pass and view these striking arches daily, designed to visualise the hull of a boat as a nod to the original Mayflower ship that took the Founding Fathers to America.
