At Herne Bay in Kent, R G Carter are in the last remaining weeks of work on the new crematorium for the Westerleigh Group. This bird’s eye view shows the roof of the building being completed, with the chapel at the front of the image showing glulam beams forming the porte cochère. Behind this sits the crematorium and office space.
Front right, in front of one of the UK’s largest solar farms, is the water basin where the team are currently finishing off drainage and surrounding asphalt and is already attracting herons and other wildlife. This will become part of the surrounding gardens and ponds, complete with wildflower meadows the team are currently seeding to create the perfect tranquil space for visitors.
