In the Suffolk market town of Eye, our Building Solutions team have just started on the site of the NHS Hartismere Hospital, where they will be replacing nearly 200 windows and fascias and 33 doors on this early 20th century building.
Opened in 1916, it was originally the Hartismere and Hoxne Infirmary, and was built on the site of the old Eye Workhouse. The hospital now specialises in Geriatric and Orthopaedics care and over the years, has had various new extensions added to the rear of the building.
All of the windows across the whole hospital are to be replaced and are a variety of sizes and shapes, from 2m high timber sash windows and arch-shaped in style, to small modern windows. Here members of our site team Paul and Dan, can be seen stood in front of what was originally built as an
administration block.
