University of Suffolk – Arts Building Refurbishment

R G Carter delivered this refurbishment of existing facilities for the University of Suffolk ready for the use of students at the beginning of the new term. We provided the complete internal refurbishment and alteration of the existing learning facility.

Over the summer months, the professional and efficient works were coordinated by our experienced site team, working to a tight programme to ensure works were completed and defect free by the beginning of term. We had a proactive understanding and collaborative approach at tender stage, to ensure we were able to hit the ground running when this project was awarded, saving valuable programme time.

Works included the refurbishment works to existing corridors including the installation of new flooring via local sub-contractors. Works created new offices, w/c facilities and learning spaces including IT rooms. We also completed the installation of high speed data cabling throughout the building to future proof the IT infrastructure for the next 25 years. Our trusted and reliable Constructionline approved supply chain worked alongside the site team to deliver these works in tight timescales. Our robust processes ensure all construction professionals working on our education sites have the relevant checks, including DBS.

The Building Solutions team coordinated effectively with the client to ensure all requirements were met, and handed over through our ‘show & tell’ process, ready for move in. Since this successful project was delivered to an exceptional standard, we have been awarded various other refurbishment contracts including a toilet refurbishment which is due to start on site next week.
