After a very wet few weeks, the muddy site at Trowse Primary School has welcomed some lovely sunny weather, as they start to apply the intumescent paint to the completed steel structure on the double height school hall and other completed Key Stage 2 areas.
With the concrete floor also now poured in the hall, and pre-cast concrete planks complete on the first floor and roof, next steps will include adding the steel framing system to the perimeter walls, in readiness for the metal stud walling in the New Year.
The development will replace the current building and increase the school’s capacity to 200 pupils. It will have seven classrooms, a multi-purpose hall and a nursery – a first for the village – as well as a stained glass window which will be relocated from the old school.
