The John Innes Centre in Norwich hosted their annual Women of the Future event on Wednesday 29th November. This event that was launched back in 2015, aims to inspire young females to consider a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM).
As one of the sponsors of the event, R G Carter brought a team of professionals from across the Group, to be credible role models for the 250 female Year 10 students that attended; Heidi Clements, Surveying Technician for Civil Engineering, Sam Borrowdale, Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Cambridge and Chloe Mcguire, Management Trainee for Ipswich.
The exhibition stand included a 3D printer, bridge building and offered a range of promotional items and informative leaflets for inspire the students and support what was a very popular stand for the students. Heidi also demonstrated her surveying equipment to show students how it worked, in a ‘role model’ talk that took place in the afternoon.
