Diamond Place – Extra Care Apartments & Bungalows

R G Carter constructed this high-specification Assisted Living Scheme located in the north east of Lincoln in the desirable village of Welton.

The project involved the design, construction and commissioning of a three storey Apartment block comprising of sixty-two 1-bed 2-person Extra Care Apartments with kitchen, wet room, lounge area, bedroom and store. Surrounding the Apartment block are various landscaped areas with seating and interactive areas for the residents along with ten semi-detached bungalows.

The Apartment building (totalling approximately 5,175m2 gross internal floor area) will act as the hub for the development and contains an external aluminium clad entrance foyer with feature wall map of Lincoln and seating areas, a large homely and comfortable lounge with bespoke fireplace. Cafe/restaurant, accompanied with a coffee and tea station, servery and commercial kitchen. There is a treatment room, hobbies and games rooms, book room, offices, medical/consultation room, assisted bathroom, mobility scooter stores and guest suites. Together with landscaped gardens, EV charging points, photovoltaic panels and battery storage.

Ten semi-detached 2-bed Bungalows are arranged to the north and west side of the Apartment Block. The Bungalows are self-contained comprising individual access, living/dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, storage space, with individual gardens and photovoltaic panels. The bungalows are available for shared ownership for the over 55s. These bungalows have been designed to allow elderly residents to maintain independence with the added benefit of being part of the community that LACE Housing have created.
