Apprentice Pre-Contract Quantity Surveyor
East Anglia (travel required throughout this area) - Permanent - Full Time
Background
R G Carter are looking for an Apprentice Pre- Contract Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful applicant will begin studies with a Construction Quantity Surveyor Technician Level 4. This qualification is delivered online and includes guided discussions as well as independent learning and reading. On completion you will move onto study Construction Quantity Surveyor degree apprenticeship. As a Pre-Contract Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for quantification of all aspects of construction projects and the preparation of cost plan and bills of quantities documentation. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
- You will learn how to:
- Understand, analyse and co-ordinate tender documentation
- Quantify all aspects of construction projects in line with industry standards
- Identify deficiencies, risks and conflictions within drawn and written documentation
- Understand common construction contracts and procurement routes
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop effective solutions
- Prepare carbon assessments for construction projects
- Conduct site visits to assess pre-contract risks and identify potential issues
Experience
- Requirements for Apprenticeship:
- Evidence of Level 2 qualifications in 4 subjects including Maths and English e.g. GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, Functional Skills, or ESFA-approved equivalents*
- Level 4 course starts in September, Course Length is 2 Years and up to 6 months
- Virtual learning 1 day a week
- Applicants must be 18 or over
- Must have the right to work in the UK and meet the Education and Skill Funding residency status
