R G Carter continued their support for Priscilla Bacon Lodge, by entering a football team to play at a recent charity 5 aside tournament to raise vital funds for the amazing work they do for palliative care.
After an initial slow start with two 0:0 draws against AECOM Cambridge and Richard Utting Associates, and a 1:0 loss to Bidwells (despite solid goalkeeping), a few tactical managerial tweaks saw the team win the last group game 2:0 against Castons and progress to the quarter finals.
This final game was against Bidwell’s who had beaten the team earlier, however this time with an early goal and a converted penalty a 2:0 victory saw the team move on to the semi-final.
The semi-final was against Canham Consulting Ltd who came out 2:0 victors despite a valiant effort with some very tired legs! Thank you to Richard Utting Associates and Pentaco Construction for hosting and organising a fantastic day of football, for a great cause.
